ARGYLE — Cornerstone Lutheran Church of Argyle is working with Norske Nook of DeForest to bring fresh, award-winning pies to area Thanksgiving feasts.
“Our goal is to give the busy hostess a bit of relief from baking scratch pies without sacrificing homemade goodness while at the same time raising money to support struggling families and reach children,” said Susan William, President of Cornerstone’s Women’s Group.
The morning of Wednesday, Nov. 27, a Cornerstone Pie Shuttle will head to DeForest to retrieve the fresh pies. Pie orders will be ready for pick up from 4-7 p.m. later that day at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, located south of Argyle on Wis. 81.
Choose from three traditional Thanksgiving pies: Pumpkin, Dutch Apple and Pecan. Orders and payment are due by Oct. 30.
For more information or to order online, go to cornerstoneargyle.com/pie or call 608-543-3630 to request an order form. Quantities are limited.
Norske Nook is known for their made-from-scratch pies with each crust rolled by hand. Several varieties have won awards at the Annual National Pie Championship in Florida. In addition to providing holiday desserts, the proceeds will be used to support local family mission and children’s ministry of Cornerstone Church.
