Community Fund names grant winners

SOUTH WAYNE - The South Wayne Community Fund awarded the 2013 Black Hawk Excellence in Education Fund Grant Awards during a recent meeting.

Grant winners included the Black Hawk School District for main door camera/buzzer entry system, Black Hawk kindergarten for leveled readers and Black Hawk Elementary for common core learning center implementation.

The Black Hawk EIE Fund is an independent community organization that provides charitable resources to enhance educational programs in the school district. The current advisory board includes Jaqui Haldiman, Rosann Markese, Joni Marty, Lisa Nelson, Chris Obert, Mavis Rood, Bruce Ruegsegger, Janeen Trame and Sonja Wolff.
