FREEPORT, Ill. - Julio Gomez, who lost 180 pounds as a contestant on the eighth season of NBC's "Biggest Loser," will talk about his weight-loss experience at a special appearance Saturday, March 27.
Gomez's talk kicks off a special Get Fit Fun Day for participants of the popular FHN Get Fit program. The public is invited to attend the presentation, which begins at 9 a.m. in the main gym at the YMCA of Northwest Illinois, 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport.
Gomez, a father of two from Algonquin, Ill. will talk about his experiences on the hit NBC show and his motivation to keep going on his weight-loss journey.
His "Keeping Motivated" speech and Q & A session are the only part of the Get Fit Fun Day open to the public. Admission for the general public is five non-perishable food items or $5 cash at the door, to be donated to the Freeport Area Church Cooperative food pantry. Seating for the public is first-come, first-seated and doors will open at 8:30 a.m.
