BH music students receive recognition

SOUTH WAYNE - Connor Moore will be heading to state competition for his vocal solo after performing at the Six Rivers East conference in Solo and Ensemble Saturday, Feb. 18.

Other Black Hawk music students performed and received recognition at the competition.

Class A firsts were awarded to Connor Moore for his sax solo and to Katelyn Stephens and Trista Cushman for their vocal solos.

Class A seconds went to the double-trio of Maura and Ciara Staunton, Trista and Tesse Cushman, and Katelyn Stephens and Kate Quinn. Trista Cushman also received a Class A second for her musical theater vocal solo.

Class B firsts were awarded to Brooke Moore and Kate Quinn for vocal solos, Tessa Cushman for her flute solo, Ashly Larson for a sax solo and Leane Dammen for her trumpet solo.

Class B seconds went to Morgyn Stauffacher for a piano solo, Courtney Wilde for her vocal solo, Taylor Klemm for a clarinet solo and Logan Stietz and Katelyn Stephens for their trumpet duet.

Class C firsts were awarded to Ben Holland and Michael Flanagan for a percussion duet; Jordyn Delzer, Elizabeth Holland, Brooke Moore, Aleigha Sigafus and Casi Blosch for a flute and clarinet duets; Elizabeth Holland and Casi Blosch for their flute duet; Megan Gobeli and Alyse Metz for vocal solos; and Jordyn Delzer for her piano solo.

Class C seconds went to Alyse Metz, Megan Gobeli, Brooke Moore, Melissa Flanagan, Casi Blosch and Elizabeth Holland for their vocal duets; Klarissa Neff and Katy Rose for their vocal solos; Morgyn Stauffacher and Samantha Lovelace for a clarinet duet; Allyson Whitmore for her sax solo; and Sam Lovelace for a piano solo.

Class C thirds were awarded to Nate Sigafus, Michael Flanagan and Ben Holland for their percussion trio and Katlyn Quire, Megan Wang, Angel Paul and Casie Dubel for their vocal duets.
