Girls Scouts to celebrate 100th birthday Monday
MONROE - Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland is celebrating its 100th birthday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 12 at the United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St.
Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland is inviting the public and all Girl Scouts, past, present and future, along with their parents and friends, to join the celebration.
There will be a special birthday ceremony at 6:45 p.m. Along with creating a large friendship circle, a birthday candle will be lit and a song will be sung to honor the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low.
Past and present Girl Scouts are encouraged to bring or wear their Girl Scout uniform or pins.

Woman's Club listens to wind energy presentation
MONROE - The Monroe Woman's Club members had the opportunity recently to listen to Troy Pittz give a presentation on wind energy.
Pittz, a representative from the Alliant Energy, discussed wind energy development and how 9.7 million homes in the United States are powered by wind energy.
During the meeting, Green County Humane Society Executive Director Deb Broge, received a $500 community project award for the organization.
