American Legion council gets new officers for next two years

NEW GLARUS - The Green County Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary to the American Legion installed officers elected by their post or unit for the coming two years.

The installation took place at the council meeting at the New Glarus Post #141 on June 8.

The incoming commander of the Steussy-Kuenzi New Glarus Post #141 is Steven Hodgson, a 10-year member of the post. He is a Marine and served in the Lebanon/Grenada era. The installing official was David Henning, former Green County commander.

Janet Thompson of the Zilmer-Riley Monroe Post #84 was the installing official for the incoming officers of the Green County Council Auxiliary and McDermott-Steindorf Albany Post #144. The officers installed were: Rose Wenger and Renee Groom, co-presidents of the county council; Eileen Henning and Bonnie Zurflun, co-secretary/treasurer of the county council; and Virginia King, chaplain of the Albany unit.

Janet Tompson also presented outgoing council president with a past-presidents pin.
