When tragedy forced the Belleville Music Festival to rethink its lineup, organizers found an inspiring new headliner.
Following the unexpected death of Altered Five Blues Band lead singer Jeff Taylor earlier this year, festival organizers were faced with replacing one of Wisconsin’s premier live acts. Their search led them to one of the state’s brightest new stars.
Genevieve Heyward, whose powerful performances on last season’s American Idol introduced her to a national television audience, will headline the 2026 Belleville Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Community Park in Belleville.
“We were all saddened by the loss of Jeff Taylor,” said Randy Gunter, one of the organizers of the Belleville Music Festival. “Altered Five Blues Band was going to be a tremendous part of this year’s event, and our thoughts remain with Jeff’s family, friends and band mates. While no one could truly replace them, we’re excited to welcome Genevieve Heyward back home to Wisconsin for what promises to be an unforgettable performance.”
The free festival features an afternoon and evening of live music on the shores of Lake Belle View, with a lineup spanning classic rock, pop, Americana, and even zydeco.
The Belleville Music Festival is free to attend and takes place on the shores of Lake Belle View in Community Park. Festival goers can enjoy an afternoon and evening of live music, food vendors, and beer and wine in one of southern Wisconsin’s most scenic small-town settings. Event is for all ages.
The festival is presented by the Sugar River Business Network with support from local business sponsors.
