MONROE — Green County Sheriff Mark Rohloff is the chair of the 2018 Green County Alzheimer’s Walk. Rohloff has a professional and personal connection to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
As a law enforcement officer for 39 years, he has helped individuals who were lost or confused, or responded to calls when a person with dementia was acting violently or needed help. In his personal life, he also experienced his stepmother’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. After many years of home and nursing care, his stepmother passed away from the disease. The Green County Alzheimer’s Walk will be Sept. 8 at the Behring Senior Center, 1113 10th Street, Monroe. Teams are being formed and registration is open for individuals or groups.
The Alzheimer’s Walk is an opportunity to support ADAW Memory Cafes and other support programs in Green County. All proceeds benefit the community where the money is raised. Visit www.alzwisc.org/green to participate and find more.
