Rufer: Life was better under Trump
Letter To The Editor

From Gene Rufer

To the Editor:

Well election day is here. When you go to the polls you have to consider where your family stands today verses 4 years ago.

Four years ago, under the great President Trumps presidency we had reasonable gasoline prices. We had affordable grocery prices. We could walk the streets of our cities with safety. There were no wars anywhere around the world and the countries in the Middle East were signing peace accords so their residents could travel and trade freely and safely between countries. President Trump was getting rid of regulations that were detrimental, especially to small companies and farmers.

Companies were bringing their operations, profit and savings back to this country.

Compared to today under Harris/Biden. We have to stay away from large cities because crime is so out of control. We can’t really travel because of expensive gas prices. We almost need a loan when we go to the grocery store because of exploding prices. We can’t afford to eat out when a hamburger and fries costs close to $20. There are two major wars going on with the possibility of more. The DOJ/FBI are out of control by charging and jailing political opponents to the democratic party.

Young people can’t afford to buy a home because of high interest rates. Companies are again leaving the USA for foreign countries because of increased regulations. The left is trying to stifle free speech and take away your rights to gun ownership. The southern border is wide open allowing millions of illegals to come into the USA which is causing the budget of the cities where they accumulate, to escalate out of control and is breaking their budgets.

So, when you go on November 5th to vote consider if you love your freedom. President Trump surely has some flaws but we aren’t voting for a perfect person but we are voting for America. We’re voting for policy that worked, for the 4 years when he was our President. As Tim Walz said at a rally recently. “It doesn’t have to be this way. We can’t afford 4 more years of this.” How true but, remember who is in office right now!

A smart person will change their view if new information contradicts their belief. An indoctrinated person lacks this ability. They are conditioned to dismiss facts!

When you vote on November 5th, use common sense!
