MADISON - The White Mites traveled to Madison on Sunday, Feb. 16 to take on the Patriots, Middleton and the Polar Caps.
In their first game against the Patriots, the Mites skated hard as three goals were scored by Ethan Rosenstiel, Wyatt Janecke (unassisted) and Gavin Roth (unassisted).
Roth also added an assist. Cash Anderson was stopping pucks left and right, with 10 saves in goal. The Mites came out on top 3-2.
In their second game of the day against the Polar Caps, the Avalanche fell 3-1. Seth Brandt scored the lone goal unassisted. Anderson had seven saves in goal.
In their final game, the Avalanche were on fire against Middleton. The Mites came out on top 10-3. The goals were scored by Breleigh Stuart, Ethan Rosenstiel (two goals) with one assisted by Jaryn Fonseca. Gavin Roth (two goals), Zander Obert, Seth Brandt (two goals) and Karlee Boll (two goals) with one on an assist by Marlies Brandli and Seth Brandt. Anderson was strong in goal, recording five saves.
The Mites will have their final half-ice match of the season on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Madison.
Squirt A team
The Monroe Avalanche Squirt team traveled to Hartmeyer Ice Arena in Madison to take on the Patriots A on Saturday, Feb. 15. Strong teamwork led the Avalanche to a 7-1 win. Scoring in the game were Rob Schroeder (two goals), Alyssa Knauf, Hayden Roth, Lilah Bauer, Blaze Janecke and Tessa Janecke. Tessa Janecke led the team in assists (four) earning a playmaker. Other assists were recorded by Jack Leverton (two), Hayden Roth (two), Anna Malone and Lilah Bauer. The Avalanche outshot the Patriots 27-13. Goalie Aiden Runkle recorded 12 saves in the game.
On Sunday, Feb. 16 the Avalanche Squirt A team hosted the Polar Caps A for an early morning matchup. The Avalanche team dominated the game helping goalie Aiden Runkle earn his ninth shutout of the season with a 6-0 win.
Scoring for the Avalanche were Bauer, Roth, Schroeder and Tessa Janecke (three goals) who earned a hat trick in the game. Assists were tallied for Tessa Janecke, Roth, Alyssa Knauf, Jack Leverton and Alvin Buholzer. Runkle blocked 20 Polar Cap shot attempts and the Avalanche recorded 35 shots on goal.
