MONROE — A pair of local pitchers were named Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Second-Team All-State.

Argyle junior Grace Ganshert and Brodhead sophomore McKenna Young earned the designation after brilliant seasons this past spring on the diamond. Both players also made District 3’s all-region first-team.

Young had four no-hitters on the season and tormented opposing pitchers at the plate, hitting for both average and power. She had 7 home runs to go with a .375 average and a .531 on-base percentage.

Ganshert was the Six Rivers East Player of the Year, doubling as a dominant pitcher and leadoff hitter.

Monroe second baseman Alyse Maurer was District 3 large school honorable mention all-region. In District 3 small schools, Juda-Albany shortstop Brianna Dahl and outfielder Anna Skoumal, and Pecatonica pitcher Chloe Schraepfer were also honorable mention.
