Fall into healthy habits with the Walk With Ease Self-Directed Program

MONROE — As the autumn colors emerge across the surrounding area, it’s the perfect time to establish healthy habits and stay active before winter arrives. The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Green County is offering the Walk With Ease: Self-Directed Program, running September 14 to October 25.

Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this evidence-based program helps participants safely increase physical activity, reduce joint pain, improve flexibility, and build stamina — all at their own pace. Whether you’re managing arthritis, experiencing joint stiffness, or simply looking for motivation to maintain an active lifestyle, Walk With Ease provides the tools and support to help you succeed.

Program Highlights:

● Flexible Format: Walk when and where it works best for you.

● 6-Week Program: Receive a guidebook and weekly support to help keep you motivated.

● Easy to Follow: Set goals, track progress, and learn strategies for safe, enjoyable walking.

Participants Will Learn To:

● Manage arthritis pain or joint stiffness through safe, effective exercise

● Set and achieve personal walking goals

● Make walking a fun and rewarding part of daily life

● Access resources to support long-term physical activity

Program Details:

● Dates: September 14th — October 25th, 2026

● Location: Self-directed — walk anytime, anywhere

● Time Commitment: At least 3 days per week for 10 to 40+ minutes

● Suggested Donation: $15

Pre-registration is required. There are no county or state residency requirements. Participants will need a safe place to walk, comfortable shoes, and the guidebook provided by the ADRC upon registration.
