Rain forces slew of postponements

MONROE - The rain that hit the area on Tuesday washed out many spring athletic events.

The Monroe High School softball team's game against Stoughton was postponed. Monroe (15-5, 7-2 Badger South) is tied with Stoughton for second in the league and is one game behind Fort Atkinson in the race for a conference championship. The Cheesemakers' game against Stoughton has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at Twining Park.

The Monroe baseball team, which also is chasing a Badger South Conference title, had its game at Stoughton postponed. The rescheduled game at Stoughton is slated for 5 p.m. May 23.

The Monroe boys tennis team's conference match at Monona Grove was postponed but Monroe Athletic Director Jeff Newcomer said no make-up date has been set yet.

New Glarus at Cambridge, rescheduled to Friday.

Albany at Pecatonica, rescheduled to Thursday.

Boscobel at Darlington, rescheduled to Monday.

Argyle at Black Hawk, rescheduled to May 24.

Brodhead at Palmyra-Eagle, rescheduled to May 24.



Softball

New Glarus at Waterloo, rescheduled to May 23.

Brodhead at Palmyra-Eagle, rescheduled to May 17.

Iowa-Grant at Darlington, rescheduled to May 17.

Argyle at Black Hawk, rescheduled to May 23.



Golf

New Glarus at Columbus, rescheduled to Monday.
