BLANCHARDVILLE - The Pecatonica boys basketball team came back from a deficit for the second straight game and edged River Ridge 53-50 Friday night.

Pecatonica (5-6, 3-3 Six Rivers East) rallied from a 26-22 halftime deficit to win its third straight game.

The Vikings had a six point lead with seven seconds left and River Ridge made a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

"It really wasn't in doubt," Pecatonica coach Jim Syse said.

Syse said the key in the second half was winning the rebounding battle.

"We got on the glass," he said. "We were more aggressive and out-rebounded them in the second half."

Pecatonica senior Kaleb Feller scored a game-high 18 points including 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

Juniors Devin Jeglum and Jeremy Meudt scored nine points each.

The Vikings outscored River Ridge 18-13 in the third quarter.

Syse said the difference was the third quarter.

Pecatonica made 14-of-18 free throws.

"We are getting to the line and making free throws, which is huge," Syse said.

The Vikings also hit five 3-pointers including two by Feller.

Pecatonica seniors Kyle Kent and Milton Kurschner scored six and five points a piece.
