Panoske powers Brodhead

BRODHEAD - J.J. Panoske hit five 3-pointers and scored 37 points to lead the Cardinals to a rousing 76-71 victory Friday over Beloit Turner.

Brodhead jumped to a 24-9 first-quarter lead and held a 34-24 advantage at halftime. Before the fourth quarter got under way, the Trojans (12-8, 7-8 Rock Valley South) trailed 59-46.

The Cardinals (12-8, 9-6) shot 26 of 35 from the free-throw line and had two other players in double figures. Senior guard Jake Cole hit a 3 and scored 15, and junior forward Nick Jacobson added 11 points. Michael Peterson had seven and Carson Scheidegger chipped in six to round out Brodhead's scoring.

Juda 57, Argyle 46

JUDA - The Panthers used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a Six Rivers East win over the Orioles.

Juda (7-13, 3-7) had three players in double figures, led by sophomore Joey Jordan, who scored 16 points. Juda sophomore Brandon Bauman scored 12 points, and freshman Cody Suiter added 11.

The Panthers jumped out to a 17-11 first-quarter lead and led by just four points at halftime. The Panthers shot 21 of 25 from the free-throw line and outscored the Orioles 22-17 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Argyle junior Nate Thomas scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Orioles. Argyle sophomore Jared Johnson added 10 points. Argyle drops to 1-19, 1-10.
