MONROE - The Cheesemakers were no match for Oregon, as the Panthers cruised 63-17 Friday.

"Oregon is a very strong team and I give them credit for wrestling well," Monroe head coach Jeriamy Jackson said. "They match up very well with us. On top of the forfeits that we had to give, they had good wrestlers where we had good wrestlers."

Gavin Wels moved his record to 6-1 this year at 119 with a pin in 3:57.

"Gavin Wels wrestled very well again. Cory Kundert wrestled well also, improving his record to 5-2," Jackson said.

Lucas Leu, Monroe's heavyweight, had one of his more impressive matches of the season, winning via pin in 5:15. Leu is now 6-1 on the season for the Cheesemakers.

Monroe will wrestle again today at the Sugar River Invite in Belleville
