MILTON - Monroe volleyball coach Heidi Witt wants to see the Cheesemakers finish their hits and be more aggressive at the net after Milton handed the Cheesemakers a 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 loss Thursday.
"We started out kind of slow," Witt said. "Our downfall in the first game was we were not communicating very well. In the second and third sets, we played with a lot more competitiveness and were scrappy. We had a couple of defensive errors and the games just got away from us."
Monroe junior Hannah Vetterli had four kills and two digs. Sophomore Alicia Kuester had four kills and sophomore Chloe Schroeder had one block.
Monroe senior Lauren Curtis had two digs and one ace. Sophomore Hannah Neuenschwander and junior Paige Murphy each added one ace.
With the loss, Monroe drops to 2-13, 0-3 Badger South. The Cheesemakers will play in the Brodhead Invitational Saturday.
"We just have to get better at the net and more aggressive," Witt said.
