PLATTEVILLE - Four local track athletes participated in the tri-state Senior All-Star Spotlight meet at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday.
Monroe's Brett DeNure anchored Team Wisconsin to a second place finish in the 3,200-meter relay. DeNure paired up with Dominick McCormick, Eric Smits and Josh Knuteson, and ran a time of 7 minutes, 52.19 seconds. Team Iowa (A) won the race with a time of 7:50.31.
Pecatonica's Elise Sigg finished fifth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:20.47. Wisconsin's Brea Tinney won the race with a time of 4:57.71, which broke Ashley Beutler's 2007 meet record.
Sigg teamed up with Brea Tinney, Brittany Frederick and Kelly McKenzie to take the top spot in the 3,200-meter run. The group's time of 9:19.64 broke the previous meet record of 9:20.54, which was set in 2007.
Darlington's Kelsi Blosch then teamed up with Haley Kerkoff, Ashley Maxon and Erika Suchla to take third in the 1,600-meter relay. Team Wisconsin's time of 3:59.50 trailed both Team Illinois and Team Iowa. Iowa broke the meet record with a time of 5:53.64, nearly a second faster than the previous top mark.
Jeff Reichling, also of Darlington, finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet, 10 inches or 15.79 meters.
