MCFARLAND — The Sugar River Raiders were blanked by the McFarland Spartans 3-0 in nonconference girls soccer on Friday, May 8. It was only the second time this season the Raiders had been shut out. They’ve scored in every match this season since a 1-0 loss to Monona Grove on April 11 in the Raider Invitational. McFarland is currently ranked #5 in Division 3.
The Spartans scored a goal at 37:38 in the first half for a 1-0 lead. Then, McFarland got two more scores in the second half with goals at 66:42 and at 79:07.
Sugar River (8-3-1, 3-1 Capitol Conference) was to host Cambridge/Deerfield/Waterloo in Capitol Conference action on Tuesday, May 12.
