NG throttles Monticello in rivalry game 92-48

NEW GLARUS — In the annual Wisconsin 69 rivalry game between New Glarus and Monticello, it was the Knights who came on top Nov. 24.

Jaden Kreklow had 27 points to lead New Glarus to a 92-48 win. Zach Feller (19), Connor Siegenthaler (12) and Trevor Gassman (11) all hit double-figured for the Glarner Knights, which had nine players put the ball through the hoop.

Monticello was led by Reece Rufer’s 17 points, while Jeffrey Ace scored 10.

New Glarus, which led 62-30 at halftime, was 13 of 18 from the free throw line and hit 11 3-pointers in the route. Monticello was 15 of 25 from the charity stripe and had just one 3.

The Glarner Knights are off until Friday when they host Dodgeville in a non-conference game. Monticello was scheduled to be back on the court Tuesday against Madison Country Day.

In other area action Nov. 24, Brodhead upended Albany 79-58. In girls basketball from Nov. 24, Brodhead beat Albany 54-45 and New Glarus defeated Monticello 54-41.
