BELMONT - Lee Vlasak doesn't run from defenses, he runs over them.

The Pecatonica-Argyle senior running back racked up 222 yards and four touchdowns in the Vikings' 35-6 trouncing of host Belmont Friday.

Vlasak had long touchdown runs of 41 and 80 yards in the third quarter to put the game away. At that point, Pec held a 21-6 lead.

Vlasak's other touchdowns came on a 5-yard run in the first quarter and a 1-yard run in the second quarter. He finished with 16 carries and a 13.9-yard per-carry average.

Keeping the theme, Taylor Saalsa scored the Vikings' other touchdown on a 42-yard run in the first quarter.

Belmont's lone touchdown came in the second quarter on a 7-yard run by Josh Eastlick, who had 141 rushing yards.

The teams combined to run 117 plays; they also combined for 715 yards of total offense.

Pec plays at Black Hawk at 7 p.m. Friday.

New Glarus-Monticello 14, Waterloo 13>

The Glarner Knights dug deep to pull out a dramatic 14-13 overtime win over Waterloo Friday night for homecoming.

New Glarus-Monticello scored in the first quarter on a 5-yard run by Tyler Dorn, but missed the extra point. Waterloo tied the game up in the third at 6-6. From there, the two teams trotted into overtime. Waterloo scored first and converted the extra point.

The Glarner Knights responded when sophomore quarterback Kirbe French connected with running back Matt Felt on a 19-yard touchdown pass. French lined up as a wide receiver on the trick play. Needing just an extra point to send the game into a second overtime, the coaching staff decided to go for the win at home with the momentum at their side. Senior running back Tory Boley smashed his way into the endzone on the two-point conversion for the win.

Boley finished the night with 10 carries for 64 yards.

Darlington 36, Cuba City 20>

Strong second and third quarters led Darlington to a dominating 36-20 victory Friday over host Cuba City.

The Redbirds outscored the Cubans 29-7 in the middle quarters to turn a 7-7 tie into a 36-14 crushing lead.

Quarterback Alex Erickson scored three of Darlington's touchdowns on runs of 4, 5 and 13 yards. He finished with 121 rushing yards on 19 carries. He also threw for 78 yards.

Jeff Reichling got on the board twice for the Redbirds. He scored on a 22-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and added a 3-yard TD catch from Erickson in the second.

Darlington gained 397 yards of total offense on the night on 67 plays. The Redbirds host Southwestern at 2 p.m. Friday.
