REEDSBURG - The Monroe baseball team lost an ugly affair Tuesday to Badger North counterpart Reedsburg, 6-5, to end the regular season.

"Both teams had trouble defensively and most of the runs were aided by errors on both sides," Monroe head coach Steve Christensen said. Both teams had six errors.

Reedsburg scored three runs in the first inning, but by the end of the third, the score was tied at 4-4. The Beavers scored two more runs in the fourth, while the Cheesemakers could only get one last run in the fifth.

Kris Rieder started and took the loss for Monroe, though he didn't get much help from his defense. Cory Kundert came in relief in the fourth inning.

Monroe had just two hits.

The Cheesemakers will host Big Foot at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the WIAA Division 2 baseball playoffs.
