RIVER RIDGE - Freshman Bailey Butler went 2-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs and smashed a home run in the fifth inning to lead Black Hawk to a 10-2 victory over River Ridge.
Butler also delivered on the mound, striking out six and walking just two batters to get the win.
"Bailey Butler pitched a good game and let her defense do their jobs," Black Hawk coach Curt Leuzinger said.
The Warriors had three players with multiple hits, which included Butler, Natalie Leuzinger (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) and Kaylee Marty (2-for-4). Black Hawk finished the game with nine hits and eight walks.
Each team scored in the first inning, but Black Hawk added two runs in the second and broke the game open with a four-run fifth to make it 7-1.
Coach Leuzinger added that "(Our) girls ran the base paths aggressively - always pushing for another base," which forced River Ridge "into hard defensive plays."
Black Hawk returns to action Monday at home against Pecatonica.
