Sex assault suspect out on bail

DARLINGTON - A Blanchardville teenager was charged Tuesday with sexual assault and burglary after allegedly attacking a Fayette woman in her home on Saturday.

Daniel Esh Fisher, 17, faces a Class C felony charge of second-degree forcible sexual assault, a Class F felony charge of burglary, Class H felony charges of false imprisonment and strangulation and a Class I felony charge of exposing his genitals to a child.

Fisher appeared in Lafayette Circuit Court on Tuesday for his initial appearance. He posted a cash bond of $50,000 with conditions that he have no contact with any female younger than 18 years old; that he be under parental supervision at all times; and that he not leave his residence without the supervision of a parent. Fisher is also prohibited from contacting the victim or her family or from approaching her residence.

Fisher was arrested late Friday after a Fayette woman reported that an unknown male entered her home without permission in the early morning hours and sexually assaulted her.

The assault occurred on Fisher's 17th birthday.

Fisher's charges carry a maximum possible sentence of 40 years in prison. He will appear in Lafayette County Circuit Court on April 18 for his preliminary hearing.
