More cold, snow in forecast

MONROE - The calendar may say March but expect more January-like weather this week: Forecasters for the National Weather Service say the Monroe area will see frigid wind chills today and a continued chance of snow throughout the week.

The high for today, March 3, is expected to reach 10 degrees, but wind chills values will dip as low as -30 below, the NWS says. Monday night will bring a 20 percent chance of snow. That chance of snow continues each day through Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to rise Tuesday, March 4, when the high will be 20 and the low 8 with wind chill values between -5 and 5.

Wednesday, March 5 is expected to bring a high of 24 and a low of 11. Thursday, March 6 will see a high of 28 and a low of 18. On Friday, March 7, there is a chance of snow and rain; the high will be near 35, with a low of 19.
