MONROE - The City of Monroe water utility will be flushing water mains throughout the city from Monday through Oct. 31.
Residents are reminded that some discoloration may occur in their water. Water is safe and is not harmful to anyone's health. The discoloration is caused by encrusted minerals being flushed from the walls of the mains. The best way to handle the discoloration is to turn on the cold water and let it run until the water is clear.
