MONROE - The outdoor pool is open and season pool passes can be purchased online this year. A family pass is $95 for residents and $110 for non-residents. A family wading pool pass is $70 for residents and $85 for non-residents; an individual pass is $50 for residents and $65 for non-residents; a senior citizen pass is $45 for residents and $60 for non-residents; and a senior citizen couple pass is $75 for residents and $90 for non-residents.
Public swim hours this week are 6 to 7:30 p.m. through Friday. Starting Monday, the weekday hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. The weekend public swim hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The class "Could I Be A lifeguard?" will allow participants the opportunity to see what skills are needed to be a lifeguard. This class is for anyone entering ninth through 12th grades in the fall. The program is from 8 to 9 a.m. June 19 through July 7 (no class on July 3 and 4), with instructor Linda Moser at the outdoor pool. The fee is $2. Preschool swim lessons are for children 3 to 5 years old who do not fear the water. They will work with an instructor on learning to submerge themselves. Classes are from noon to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays with Fridays reserved for make-up sessions due to inclement weather. The cost per session is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
Skippers 1 is for 3- and 4-year-olds. Session one is June 12-22 and Session Two is from July 10 through 20.
Skippers 2 is for 4- and 5-year-olds. Session One is June 26-6 (not July 4) and Session Two is from July 31 through Aug. 10.

An exercise aqua Zumba class for adults will be held from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays June 13 through Aug. 17 at the pool. There is no cost for season pool pass-holders; others will pay the $2 nightly admission. The Zumba instructor is Connie Wyssbrod. Make-up days will be June 21 and 28. There is no Zumba on June 22, 27 and 29 due to schedule conflicts.
