TOWN OF NEW GLARUS - A rural Monroe man was in stable condition Tuesday after being Med-Flighted to Madison Friday as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Bradley R. Butts, 53, was driving his motorcycle northbound on County J at about 1:30 p.m. when his bike failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway near Farmers Grove Road, according to a Green County Sheriff's Department news release. The bike overturned and Butts was ejected, sustaining head and possibly serious internal injuries.
Green County Sheriff Mark Rohloff said Tuesday that Butts was in a stable condition. While he suffered several broken ribs, he is able to sit up.
Butts was riding with three other bikers who called for assistance and gave him aid until emergency crews arrived. Butts was then flown to University of Wisconsin Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation. Rohloff said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Butts was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
