MONROE - Jaron David Neuenschwander Luebke Jr., 24, Monroe, was charged with third-degree sexual assault and domestic abuse on Tuesday.

The charges stem from an incident May 3 in the 1800 block of 10th Avenue in Monroe. The woman said that she had been driving around the city with Luebke and talking. The assault reportedly occurred in a vehicle owned by the victim. She said at the time of the assault, she repeatedly told Luebke no.

Luebke was interviewed by officers in September. During the discussion at the Green County Jail, Luebke said he would not be able to commit sexual assault and that the encounter was consensual.

Luebke's first appearance in court is scheduled for Jan. 9 at the Green County Justice Center.

The maximum possible sentence for the Class G felony is up to 10 years in prison, fines up to $25,000 or both.
