MONROE - A Freeport man was arrested for domestic abuse-related sexual assault of an Illinois woman on Friday, March 14.
Brandon L. Collins, 20, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. in the 800 block of 27th Avenue for domestic abuse-related fourth degree sexual assault, or groping without consent, and disorderly conduct.
Chief of Police Fred Kelley said Collins knew the victim, who was visiting Monroe. Collins found her in Monroe and entered her car, where the alleged assault occurred. Kelley also said the victim opted for a 72-hour no contact restraining order against Collins.
Collins was jailed pending court.
