Traffic Accidents: Oct. 10, 2008

Monroe Police

MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 13th Avenue and 20th Street. A southbound car on 13th Avenue driven by Mary A. Engebretson, 55, Monroe, was struck by an eastbound car on 20th Avenue driven by Janice M. Sedwick, 57, Monroe.

Sedwick was cited for failure to yield right of way. Engebretson was cited for failure to wear a seat belt.

Both vehicles received moderate damage.

Green County Sheriff

• A vehicle driven by Robert A. Becker, 48, Blanchardville, hit a deer at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on Buckeye Road near Wisconsin 39 in York Township. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Lafayette County Sheriff

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on County XX in Belmont township. Christine A. Lovell, 36, Darlington, was westbound when she reported falling asleep. Lovell lost control of her vehicle, which traveled off the roadway and into a ditch. Lovell was transported to Southwest Healthcare in Platteville by Belmont Ambulance. The vehicle received minor damage.
