Rosemary Prine, age 81 of Darlington, WI, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born September 22, 1928, in Shullsburg, WI, the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Miller) Gleason. Rosemary attended Number Nine Country School in rural Shullsburg and later attended St. Matthew's Catholic School in Shullsburg. She lived in Shullsburg until her marriage to Paul Prine on August 27, 1953, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg. Rosemary worked as a housekeeper for a number of families in the Darlington and Shullsburg area. She packaged cheese at Grande Cheese Company in Darlington for a number of years and later helped serve lunch at Holy Rosary School. Rosemary then went back to housekeeping for a short time and also helped clean Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Rosemary is survived by her husband: Paul at home; three children: Eugene Prine of Capron, IL, Joseph (Barbara) Prine of Mazomanie, WI, and Pauline (George) Mick of Waupun, WI; six grandchildren: J.J. Prine, JoAnna Riha, Mary Rose Bailey, and Katie Rose Schoenherr, and Travis and Tyler Mick; six great-grandchildren: Janessa, Jaylyn, and Jaycie Riha, Isaac Schoenherr, and Eva and Charlotte Bailey; four brothers: John (Judy) Gleason, Mike (Darline) Gleason, Bernard Gleason, and Joseph (Maritta) Gleason all of Shullsburg; four sisters: Catherine Weiskircher and Donna Weiderholt both of Shullsburg, and Adeline Graham and Betty Gratz both of Darlington; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
Rosemary was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and its Council of Catholic Women.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 730 Wells Street in Darlington with Rev. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington.
