Pearle V. Koller, age 97 of Monticello, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Monroe Manor. Pearle was born on May 27, 1916 in Jordan Township, the 7th of 8 children to Franklin Edwin and Rose (Stauffacher) Ellis. She attended Simmons Rural School and married Jacob Koller on May 29, 1936 in Iowa. Pearle and her husband actively farmed in Washington Township until 1965. They built a home on Koller Circle near Monticello where Pearle lived until entering the nursing home in the summer of 2012. She was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Monroe Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to cook and bake, and was known for her chocolate chip cookies. Pearle was an extremely hard worker, strong willed, and a determined woman who would do anything to help others.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Edward) Riese of Monticello; her son, Jacob "Butch" Koller of Robertsdale, AL and his special friend, Merrily Lloyd of Summerdale, AL; five grandchildren, David (Sandra) Riese of Chattanooga, TN, Kristine Peterson and fiancé Clair Coleman, both of Holmen, WI, Bryon (Lynda) Riese of Belleville, WI, Brenda (Greg) Daino of Portage, and Cheryl (Derek) Frank of Barneveld; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 2, 1982; three brothers, Marvin, Marion and Walter Ellis; and four sisters, Eva Chappell, Letha Brunner, Grace Wire and Virginia Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Kingdom Hall, N3073 Highway 59, Monroe, with Philip Stephenson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Memorial donations in Pearle's name are kindly suggested to Kingdom Hall.
