PECATONICA - Molly J. Tarbert, 78, lifelong resident of Pecatonica, died Saturday evening, February 20, 2010 in her home. She was born January 19, 1932 in Pecatonica, Illinois, the daughter of Bruno and Olga (Meyer) Schwartz. She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1949. Molly married James S. Tarbert on June 25, 1949 in Pecatonica. Molly worked throughout her life in the Pecatonica area including 28 years as "Miss Molly" the bus driver for Pecatonica School District #321. Molly's activities and knowledge were endless. She enjoyed and was skilled at anything she attempted including her sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, bridge playing, golfing, planting and tending flowers, driving school bus and caring for the riders. Her travels and connections were far and many, both in person and virtually. She was a source of inspiration to all that she knew and she lived her life to the fullest. She loved and cherished her family, lifelong friends, and most recently her pogo family. Molly as our source of family history, community history, and humorous storytelling will be sorely missed. She was a lifetime member of 1st Congregational United Church of Christ.

Molly dearly loved her family and is survived by her children, Kristina Tarbert of Pecatonica, Kathi (David) Brake of Severna Park, MD, Rebecca (Robin) Tedrick of Winnebago, IL, James (Josie) Tarbert of Lemon Grove, CA, and children of the heart, Ladd (Carol) Henneman of San Jose, CA, and Bill (Barb) Desmond of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Colin (Marcie) Gillette, Aaron Gillette, Emily (Victor) Martinez, David Gillette, Allyson Brake, Kristin Tedrick, Rachel Tedrick, PV2 Trenton Tedrick and grandchild of heart, Kristina Dorman; great-grandchildren, Andrew James Martinez, Liam Allen Flynn, Isabella Jane Martinez; siblings, Kim (Doris) Schwartz, Audrey (Michael) Kelly, Jon (Marilyn) Schwartz and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, August 23, 1999, her granddaughter, Kasey Rae Tedrick, and her sister, LuAnn Desmond.

Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 633 Reed Street, Pecatonica, with visitation from 5 p.m. until start of service. Reverend Duane F. Hoffman will officiate. A private burial will be held with family at a later date.

Special thanks goes out to Dr. Edwards, Kristin PA, and the staff at ACT Medical as well as the RMH Radiation-Oncology Department, the A3 Staff, and her 'special valet' Jerry for the care and kindness shown to Molly.
