GRATIOT - Maxine D. Kant, 90, of Monroe, WI, formerly of Gratiot, WI, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Monroe Manor in Monroe, WI. Maxine was born on March 14, 1925 to Dennis and Erma (Hanson) Flannery in Jordan Center, WI.

Maxine married Elden Kant on April 8, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran in Warren, IL. She worked at Micro Switch in Warren, IL where she was a switch adjuster and was a very busy farm wife. Maxine actively participated in her church, and Women's Group Ladies Aid. She loved gardening, China painting, ceramics, spending time with her family and many treasured friends.

Maxine is survived by her children; Stan Kant of Raleigh, NC, Cathy Leverton of Bloomington, IL, two grandchildren; Allison Anderson of Charleston, SC; Justin (Sarah) Leverton of Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Elden in 1999, son-in-law Rick Leverton, daughter-in-law Terri Kant, siblings Rose Trotter, Glenn Flannery, Burnell Flannery, and Donald Flannery.

Maxine was a giving woman whose love for family, friends, and God was evident throughout her life.

She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Maxine's family would like to thank Monroe Manor for their dedication to her health and comfort in her final months.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL.

A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services on Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Pastor Megan Preston will officiate the service.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL.

A memorial has been established in her name.
