Mary-Jane (Lyons) Hasenberg of Albany, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home. She was born on June 18, 1937 in Lyndon, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Florence (Sammons) Lyons and father Harry Lyons. She was a devout Catholic, a devoted Wife, Mother, a cherished Grandmother, and Friend. She attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1955. Upon which she moved to Chicago, where she worked and studied at Northeastern Illinois University until her marriage to John R. Hasenberg in 1987. They eventually settled in Albany, WI. She was passionate about many organizations. Among them, she contributed faithfully to ASPCA, Catholic Charities, and Pro-Life Wisconsin. She loved a good cup of coffee, politics, her grandchildren, gardening, nature, bike riding, and was an avid runner. She took on a special task of raising her granddaughter, of which she considered one of her greatest accomplishments. She embodied kindness, charity, goodwill, sacrifice and love. She impacted everyone she met with her gentleness of spirit and fervor for life. She leaves behind her husband John R. Hasenberg, her son David and Daughter-in-law Mitzi Lyons (Stoughton), three grandchildren Summer (Stoughton), DeAnna and Jessie Lyons (Chicago), and two step-grandchildren Desiree (Green Bay) and Cathy Garcia (Washington). Her absence will be felt by many, but we rejoice in the knowledge that she has found peace in her eternal home- to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
