Mary E. Roth, age 56 of Monroe, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, September 8, 2008 at her home.

Mary was born February 26, 1952 in Monroe, the daughter of Nathan R. and Dorothy M. (Schulthess) Roth. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1970. Mary earned an education degree with an English major from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She operated Mary's Monogramming in Monroe for several years and most recently was employed with The Charlton Group in Monroe.

In her younger years, Mary enjoyed mountain hiking with her family. She liked to spend time working on her computer and was a caregiver to her mother and father.

Survivors include her parents, Nathan and Dorothy Roth of Monroe; her brother, John (Mary) Roth of Carmel, Indiana; a nephew, Mark Roth; and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a nephew, Aaron Roth.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe.

Inurnment will be in East Clarno Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. A time of fellowship will be held following the service at St. John's United Church of Christ. A memorial fund will be established in Mary's name.
