ALBANY - Marvin C. Elmer age 81 died Friday February 12, 2010 at the Willow Pointe Memory Care facility in Stoughton Wisconsin. He was born on October 11, 1928 at home in rural Brooklyn. Marvin married Marlene Cortrite on March 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2007. He attended the Peace United Methodist Church, loved his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing euchre, was an avid outdoorsman, trapping and hunting. He loved everything about farming and enjoyed being able to be out there with the boy's. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He is survived by a daughter Christine (Jim) Mauerman, three son's Curt Elmer, Scott (Julene) Elmer, Steve (Fairy) Elmer all of Albany, a brother Donald "Jake" (Carol) Elmer of Evansville, ten grandchildren; Sherri Thorson, Curt Elmer Jr., Brandon (Liz) Elmer, Eric Elmer, Kallie (Elliot) Day, Andrew Elmer, Michael Elmer, Michelle Mauerman, Emily Elmer and Jacob Elmer, three great grandchildren Jon Elmer, William and Ayden Day, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene, his parents, a son Kenneth, two sisters Dorothy Klitzman and Alice Butts, three brothers Alvin, Clifford and Paul Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Feb. 16, 2010 at the Ward Funeral Home 130 S. 5th Street Evansville, Wisconsin with Reverend Pat Soddy of Albany United Methodist church officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill cemetery Evansville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday Feb. 15, 2010 at the funeral home.
