Marilyn B. Cline, age 82 of Monroe, WI, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe. She was born February 13, 1926 in Lamont Township, Lafayette County, WI, the daughter of Marvin V. and Winifred C. (Lee) Paulson Sr. Marilyn graduated from Darlington High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to John T. Cline on October 12, 1946 at Blanchardville Lutheran Parsonage. Marilyn lived in the Darlington and Monroe area all of her life. She worked for Advance Transformer in Monroe for many years before retiring in 1979.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, John T.; 13 children: Richard (Elaine) Cline, Platteville, WI, James Cline, Portage, WI, Martha (Ronald) Balsiger, Monroe, Nancy (LaVern) Benson, West Salem, WI, Ruth (Curtis) Zentner, Monroe, Peter (Debra) Cline, Brodhead, WI, Philip (Christine) Cline, Argyle, WI, Bruce (Marilyn) Cline, Monroe, Brian (Connie) Cline, Monroe, Daniel (Jeanette) Cline, Platteville, John W. (Jennifer) Cline, Shannon, IL, Patricia Cline (Jodi Rolbiecki), Trempealeau, WI and Heather Cline, West Salem; one brother, William Paulson, Monroe; three sisters, Carol Hocking, Benton, WI, Barb (Irving) Benson, Monroe, Shirley (Kenneth) Rowley, Monroe; one sister-in-law, Janice Paulson, Darlington; 31 grandchildren and 21 great-granchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond Harvey in infancy and Marvin Paul in 1996; one sister Frances Marie, in infancy.
Marilyn was a member of Order of Moose Lodge #599 of Monroe, American Legion Auxiliary Post #256 of Monticello, WI for 22 years and the Lafayette County Historical Society. She was an avid reader and enjoyed stitch work, quilting and making Christmas cookies for her grandchildren. Marilyn also enjoyed watching rodeo, bull riding, baseball and listening to country western music. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Apple Grove Lutheran Church in rural Argyle, WI with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be at Fayette Methodist Cemetery, Fayette township. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle.
