Madeline I. Atkinson, age 91, of Albany, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Valley Park Assisted Living in Albany. She was born on February 28, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Addie (Carver) Loeffel.
She graduated from Albany High School in 1941 and Madison Business College.
Madeline and Robert P. Atkinson were married on October 7, 1944 in Albany, Wisconsin.
She lived in the Albany area her entire life, working with her husband Robert, farming, running the Gambles Store, Decatur Feed Service, secretary for Baker Manufacturing, seasonal worker at The Swiss Colony and ended her career as a school bus driver for 18 1/2 years.
Madeline enjoyed playing piano, organ, playing on the Senior Citizen Band and enjoyed doing crafts.
Madeline enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Europe and several cruises.
She was a member of the Hilltop Community Church and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children: Dick (Deb) Atkinson of Monroe; Dennis (Betsy) Atkinson and Gail (Gene) Briggs both of Albany; Janet (Rick) Flood of Brooklyn; 10 grandchildren: Wendy Atkinson, Jamie Atkinson, Randy (Sherry) Atkinson, David Atkinson, Bryan (Kendra) Atkinson, Michelle (Dean) Brewer, Jim (Becky) Briggs, Jeremy (Heather) Flood, Brandon Flood, Matt Flood and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert, grandson, Tim Atkinson, and a sister, Maxine.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Hilltop Community Church at 11:00 a.m. in Albany, with Pastor Ray Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be June 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Community Church.
Memorials may be directed to the Hilltop Community Church or Agrace Hospice.
