NEW GLARUS - Lorene O. Beers, age 80, of New Glarus, WI died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville, WI. She was born October 24, 1933 in New Glarus Township, the daughter of Jacob and Olga (Blum) Hefty. Lorene attended Meadow Valley Country School, and graduated with high honors from New Glarus High School in 1951. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary after graduation. Lorene's last employment was at Talarczyk and Associates from 1974 to 2006. During this time she also operated an engraving business out of her home from 1980 until 2010 she became too ill to work after fifty-nine years of employment. Lorene was united in marriage to Francis Beers on June 4, 1966. Lorene had a deep love of animals, and was known to provide care for any she came into contact with.

Lorene is survived by her husband Francis Beers, three nieces, two nephews, a great-niece, and a great-nephew. She is further survived by special cousins Kathryn (Joe) Disch, Cloyance Hefty, Arthur (Patty) Marty, Wilton Marty, and Lorenz Heim.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Charline Elmer, three brothers-in-law, and mother-in-law Margaret (McCluskey) Beers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI with a service of remembrance led by Pastor Tom Schubring at 6:30 p.m.
