Leo Willie "Bud" McGrath, age 84 of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away, Monday, September 29, 2008 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born December 19, 1923 in Jordan Township, Wisconsin, the son of Will and Delia (Flannery) McGrath and graduated from Monroe High School.
Leo and Winona I. Johnson were married on February 11, 1947 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe and they farmed in Jordan Township, the greater part of their lives. Leo was also a car salesman for Marty-Ripp Chevrolet in Monroe. Special memories of him include his faith, sense of humor, his thinking "out side of the box" and his collection of Corvettes.
Left behind are his daughters, Renee (Michael) Thorp of Monroe, WI and Jodi (Alan) Burmeister-Scott of Traverse City, MI. Leo's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of his life, they are, Micah Thorp, Amity (Sean) Messerli, and Chandra (Jeremy) Pelikan, Lillian Burmeister-Fenton; great-grandchildren, Tallon and Camree Pelikan and Aiden Kleuver-Thorp; and sister-in-law, Bernadine McGrath of Monroe, WI; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife; brother, Verdell McGrath; and sister, Cleo Nipple.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, officiating will be Monsignor Thomas Campion, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
