Larry E. Steinmann age 57 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 26, 1951 in Monroe; the son of Ernest and Joyce (Pehl) Steinmann. He graduated from Lena-Winslow High School in 1969, attended IDT College in Morrison, IL, and served in the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976.
Larry married Noreen "Reeni" Wybourn on January 31, 1970 in Freeport, IL. Larry was Service Manager for Smith Transportation in Morrison, IL and in 1978 started L & S Truck Service, Inc. & Towing in Juda, WI. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Smith Lodge #31 F&AM of Monroe, Zor Shrine of Madison, was Town Supervisor for Jefferson Township for 13 years, member of Juda Fire Association Board, and retired member of Apparitions M.C..
Surviving are wife, Reeni Steinmann of Monroe; sons, Aaron (Darci) Steinmann of Juda, Shawn (Kerri) Steinmann of Monroe, and Corey (Stacey) Steinmann of Monroe; grandchildren, Jordyn, Katlyn, Logyn, Tana, & Carter Steinmann; parents, Ernest & Joyce Steinmann of Argyle; brothers, Mark (Melody Fricks) Steinmann of Monroe and Brian (Lydia) Steinmann of Argyle; sister, Anita (Mike) Wampole of Middleton; father-in-law, Norman (Donna Ruch) Wybourn of Lena, IL, and many nieces, nephews, & other relatives. He was predeceased by brother, Randy Steinmann; grandparents, Henry & Ella Pehl and Ernest & Elise Steinmann; and mother-in-law, Janice Wybourn.
Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed his life and made his work his passion. Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring trucks, tractors, and motorcycles. Larry believed in strong family values and cherished the times he spent with family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 1200 Noon Wednesday, October15, 2008 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe with Rev. William T. Mike Heath officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe.
A memorial fund is being established in Larry's memory.
