Elizabeth A. "Betty" Feldt

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Feldt, age 82 of Monroe, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Harbor House in Monroe. Betty was born October 1, 1927 in Monroe, the daughter of Frank and Juliette (Buerki) Gisler. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1945.

She lived in Chicago for several years following high school. Betty returned to Monroe and worked as a waitress at the Maple Grove Restaurant. She married Wallace K. Feldt on September 1, 1956 at the Zwingli Church in Monticello. They farmed in Mt. Pleasant Township for many years until retiring in 1998. Betty was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello; the Monroe Womans Club, loved animals, and enjoyed modeling for local style shows.

She is survived by a son, Scott (Becky) Feldt of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Wallace, on Dec. 4, 2006.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello with Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given in Betty's name to the Zwingli church or Green County Humane Society. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
