NEW GLARUS - Clayton Howard Thompson, age 91, of New Glarus passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on August 3, 1918 to his parent Theodore and Minnie (Saalsaa) Thompson in the Town of York rural Blanchardville. Clayton was confirmed at the York Memorial Church near Blanchardville. On March 10, 1945 he was united in marriage to Elise D. Duckwitz at Oak Lawn Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, IL.
Clayton is survived by his son Arthur (Carol) Thompson, four grandchildren Lisa (Gregg) Tucek, John (Karla Hanna) Thompson, Michelle (Tony) Newton, and Mark Thompson, six great-grandchildren; Emma, Zachary, Logan, Hannah, Olivia, and Dylan, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elise, twin brothers who died in infancy, and sisters Idellis (Gerald) Paulson and Theoline (William) Duckwitz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March, 3 2010 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Chuch, 506 12th Ave., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Gene Talley officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery in New Glarus.
Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Shepherd of the Hills Church in New Glarus.
A memorial fund has been established.
