The court Friday sentenced Jason G. Niesman, 25, Freeport, Ill., to one day in jail, with one day credit for time served, and fined him $330 after he pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.
He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines for the unclassified misdemeanor.
Court records indicate he had about five grams of marijuana in a small bag in the trunk of his vehicle Nov. 2 in Monroe township.
