MISDEMEANORS

• Tyler P. McCabe, 27, Monroe, was charged Tuesday with possessing drug paraphernalia after police allegedly searched his vehicle Monday and found items commonly used to inject heroin. According to court documents, an officer who recognized McCabe from past contacts and knew there was a warrant issued for his arrest stopped him in the 800 block of 19th Avenue in Monroe. Police requested a K-9 unit, which performed a free air sniff and alerted to the vehicle. Inside, officers found syringes, a metal rod with burnt residue, a used Q-tip and a canister of butane fuel. The charge carries a "repeater" enhancer, meaning McCabe could face up to a year and a half in prison if found guilty, because he was convicted of felony forgery and misdemeanor theft in 2013. Court records indicate he signed a $200 signature bond Wednesday. He is ordered not to possess or consume nonprescription controlled substances or possess drug paraphernalia. He has a status conference July 27.

• Brandon A. Field, 21, Monroe, was charged Wednesday with domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct for allegedly hitting a 60-year-old man he knows Tuesday at a residence in the 2100 block of 13th Street in Monroe. According to police reports, an argument between Field and the man turned physical. Field reportedly got in the man's face, was pushed back and took a pratfall. Field got up and came at the man swinging, court documents show, hitting him in the head and chest. Someone who heard the altercation called police and Field was arrested. After a preliminary breath test revealed his blood-alcohol concentration was 0.26 percent, he was transported to the hospital for a medical clearance, and then taken to jail. Police records indicate Field made his initial appearance Wednesday, after which the court set a $300 signature bond that orders him not to drink or have violent or abusive contact with the victim. He has a pre-trial conference Aug. 18.

• Humberto Olmos, 31, Monroe, had charges of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct and battery conditionally dismissed Thursday. The charges will be dismissed after a year if he follows all conditions of the agreement he and his attorney reached with prosecutors. Olmos is ordered to seek domestic violence counseling and drug and alcohol treatment, attend quarterly monitoring conferences, have no violent or abusive contact with the victim or her family and commit no new crimes. The charge stemmed from a Nov. 2 incident in which Olmos slapped a woman he knows in the face, bit her cheek, twisted her finger and pulled her hair and lip, causing pain and bruising.

• Randall J. Marks, 41, Monroe, was charged Friday with two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping for allegedly driving, a violation of his bond conditions, after a traffic stop early Friday on Parkview Drive at 14th Avenue in Monroe. According to the criminal complaint, police ran the license plate of a car they observed driving on 3rd Avenue at 8th Street and discovered its registered owner was Marks, whose driver's license was revoked. Police documents show Marks signed a $500 signature bond June 29 in a case in which he's charged with operating while revoked, one condition of which states he "may not operate a motor vehicle without a driver's license on a public highway or roadway in the State of Wisconsin." The second bail-jumping charge stems from his allegedly violating the bond condition "defendant shall commit no new crime." Police records indicate Marks made his initial appearance Friday, after which the court set a $250 signature bond ordering him not to drive without a valid license. He has a pre-trial conference July 21.
