MONTICELLO - Bill Wetherington, age 60, of Monticello, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his home. Bill was born January 14, 1950 in Herrin, Illinois, the son of William F. and Lorraine (Evert) Wetherington.

He graduated from Delavan, IL High School in 1968 and attended Illinois Central College, Peoria, IL. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Oklahoma City, Italy, and San Antonio before earning his honorable discharge. Bill married Susan Lillibridge on July 4, 1975 in Delavan, IL. He worked for Eastman Kodak Co. in Dallas, TX and West Chicago, IL before moving to Monticello in 1991. Bill was employed at Farm and Fleet in Monroe from 1993 -1995 and Ikon Office Solutions from 1995 until the present.

He was a member of Believers Fellowship in Monroe where he served as an Elder and enjoyed the music ministry. Bill was a 3rd trombonist in the Monroe City Band and a Past President of the West Chicago Barbershop Chapter. He loved spending time with his family, had a love for the outdoors, was involved with the Straight Shooters group, and volunteered his time working with draft horses at Kline Creek Living History Farm in Winfield, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of Monticello; five children, Will (Rebecca) of Madison, Dan (Katie) of Wheaton, IL, Lois Joy of Monticello, Anna of Rockton, IL, and Rose Wetherington of Plainview, MN; three grandchildren; his mother, Lorraine Wetherington of Peoria, IL; a sister, Marcia (Bill) Dixon of Interlachen, FL; and two brothers, Jim (Diane) of Peoria, IL, and Charles (Maria) of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., at Believers Fellowship, 1802 8th Street, Monroe, with Pastor Jeff Cole officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Bill's name for Believers Fellowship music ministry and the Monroe City Band. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family. To send a condolence go to www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
