MONROE - The Green County Aging and Disability Resource Center is reminding citizens that Monday is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
In Green County, over the last 10 years, reported elder abuse has nearly doubled. Resource center staff say awareness is the key to combating this issue.
On Monday, the resource center staff asks residents to support the fight against elder abuse and wear purple to commemorate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
