Photo supplied On Monday, more than 100 students came to audition for a part in Missoula Children's Theatre presentation of the original musical adaptation of Cinderella. MCT actors/directors Erica Zintek and Sarah Beauvais chose 60 area students for roles in this classic fairy tale to be presented at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the MHS Performing Arts Center. MONROE - A pumpkin coach, Prince Charming, a glass slipper, and a dream come true will be woven together by the magic of a Fairy Godmother on Saturday, Jan. 12, when the Monroe Arts Center presents Missoula Children's Theatre and 60 area students in an original musical adaptation of the fairy tale classic "Cinderella."

A two-hour group audition was held on Monday at the MHS Performing Arts Center, with more than 100 students in kindergarten through 12th grades from Monroe, Juda, Argyle, Parkside, Monticello, Northside, New Glarus, Browntown, and Orangeville auditioning for a role. Those selected as cast members began rehearsals immediately following the audition.

Cinderella will be played by local student Rikka Nelson. Molly Wyss is playing the role of Lovely the Stepsister, and Eleanor Nesimoglu plays the Stepsister named Beauty. The Stepmother will be played by Kelsey Rients. Cleo the Cat will be played by Kaya Teasdale, and Calli Vesten will appear as Fido the Dog. Natalie Callahan, Sarah Courtney, Baylie Engels, Amy Gogin, Allison Hawthorne, Vanessa Meier, Rachael Nash, Tanner Purdy, Zachary Reynolds, Cassie Ross, Lauren Schilder, Madeline Schluesche, Kyler Smith and Brittney Wilcox will play the Lords and Ladies. Jamie Statz and Chelsea Miller will play the roles of Town Criers, and Christopher Beausire will play the King. Anthony Wilcox takes the role of Rags and the Prince.

Featured throughout the production are Heidi Blanc, Pauline Gogin, Allison Leutenegger, Molly Marass, Niamh O'Neill-Culhane, Liz Pratt, Kaylee Rule, Jokie Voegeli, and Kari Werrline as the Beggars. Raggedy Annie, who is played by Katie Studer, enlists the help of the Mice, Morgan Bachim, Jillian Heidenreich, Kylie Houston, Sydney Mathiason, Olivia O'Dea, Kelsie Pulvermacher, Payton Sigafus, Michaela Snider, and Dakota Thompson, and the Pumpkins, played by Cecilia Allemagne, Paige Bittner, Keon Butler, Cammi Ganshert, Urexia Garcia, Caitlyn Jackson, Renee Nash, Lauren Ross, Garret Schroeder, Skylor Schultz, Henry Schluesche, Spencer Vestin, Jaiden Walker, and Isabella Zweifel, to create the magic essential to this tale. Alyssa Sinkule, Colin Vestin, Kelsy Vestin, and Ashley Werrline serve as Assistant Directors throughout the week.

For a second consecutive season Monroe student, Caroline Tindle, is the pianist and provides all the musical accompaniment for this production.

Originally from Chicago, Zintek received her BFA in acting from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Some of her favorite credits include Adelaid in "Guys and Dolls," Jenny in "The Shape of Things," and Audrey in "As You Like It."

Beauvais hails originally from Swansboro, N.C. This is her second season with Missoula Children's Theatre. She graduated with a bachelors in performing arts from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Some of her favorite past roles include Ellen in "Luv," Mistress Forde in "Merry Wives of Windsor," and Lucille in "Dearly Departed."

"Cinderella" will be presented at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, located at 1600 26th St. in Monroe. General admission tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available by calling 325-5700 or at the Monroe Arts Center box office, and at the door the day of the performance.
